No Wall to Wall Carpet, Really?

NO CARPET IN THE PHILIPPINES

I have lived in the Philippines for the past 5 years and not once have I ever seen wall to wall carpet in anyone’s home. Now in Sugar Land every home is layered with carpeting.  Now there may be a good reason for no carpet here yet it is one thing that just does not exist.  We have hard tile floors through out the house.  It has been like that for every single home I rented while I have lived here.

The reasons for this well I can think of few:

The weather here is always warm.
There is a long rainy seasons
Windows and doors are always open.
Cost and maintenance of carpet versus tile is key.
Humidity will cause it to smell musty.

When we do arrive in the States hopefully sooner then later. With a little luck our documents will be completed.  My wife is going to have this withdrawal thing going on. As it is not uncommon for her to have a baby in one arm and a broom in the other.

Though living here for a while I can see all spills that occur on the floor that are hidden by the carpet. Zol and  I having two babies well the spills happen hourly.  An ordinary vacuum just is not going to get those spills up.  I still enjoy my carpet and wish we had that here.  However for now it just is a no go.
